Pros of Selling in 'As Is' Condition

As a home seller in Pennsylvania, what exactly does it mean to sell a property “As Is” and what is the benefit of doing so? Getting a house market ready can mean spending time and money to fix any repairs and make it attractive to potential buyers. If you are in a time or money crunch or perhaps you’ve been left an estate you don’t want to deal with, you can sell the house with an “As Is” clause, meaning that you are selling the house in its present condition and you are not responsible for repairs or renovations.

Property Disclosure

This forces the buyer to do their due diligence when considering your property. Now, this does not eliminate the obligation for you to disclose any material defects on the seller's property disclosure. However, it does prevent you from having to deal with repairs.

Cons to Selling 'As Is'

Some drawbacks to selling “As Is” might be that you might attract fewer buyers depending on the condition of the house and even receive lower offers. These are things to take into account when you are thinking of selling “As Is”.
